Grantsburg sits where the St. Croix bends and the prairie meets the pines. We're the gateway to Crex Meadows, home to more than two hundred businesses, and an award-winning school district… a town we're proud to call home.
Grantsburg was platted in 1865 along the St. Croix Trail and incorporated as a village in 1887. Today we're a community of roughly 1,300 residents on the western edge of Burnett County, and the southern anchor of the Crex Meadows Wildlife Area: 30,000 acres of restored prairie, marsh, and pine barrens that draw birders, hunters, and photographers from across the country.
What we are not is a bedroom community for somewhere else. Our schools, our hospital, our manufacturers, our shops, and our farms make this place self-supporting. The Chamber exists to keep it that way.
